Prader-Willi California Foundation (PWCF)
Founded in 1979, the Prader-Willi California Foundation’s mission is “to provide to parents and professionals a state network of information, advocacy, and support services to expressly meet the needs of children and adults with Prader-Willi Syndrome and their families.”
The foundation with its wonderful Executive Director Lisa Graziano, is a marvelous resource for information and help.
Prader-Willi Syndrome Association (USA)
The national organization, The Prader-Willi Syndrome Association, was started in 1975, and its mission is “to raise awareness, offer support, provide education and advocacy, and promote and fund research to enhance the quality of life of those affected by Prader-Willi syndrome.”
It offers extensive and exhaustive information about medical issues, diet resources, advocacy, research, links and other resources, as well as support for families, providers, and professionals.
International Prader-Willi Syndrome Organisation
IPWSO is an organization beyond borders whose mission is to “Improve the quality of life for all people with Prader-Willi syndrome and their families,” and to “Improve the physical and mental well-being, socially as well as occupationally, of all people with Prader-Willi syndrome, so that they may, according to their wishes, lead a life as normal as possible and be in a position to achieve their full potential as allowed by the constitution of their country, and what is set out in the Declaration of the United Nations on the Rights of Man and of Handicapped Persons.”
Foundation for Prader-Willi Research
The Foundation for Prader-Willi Research was established in 2003. It is an incredibly in-depth resource for information about Prader-Willi research.
